What we do

At SGIES, we offer an affordable independent examination service for small charities and voluntary groups in and around the South Gloucestershire area. Under current legislation, we can provide examinations for charities with income under £250k p.a. This level rises to £500k p.a. for charities, in England and Wales, which have year-ends of 26th February 2008 and onwards.

Due to recent implementations of the charities act, charitable companies with accounting periods beginning on or after 1st April 2008 can now be independently examined. For accounting periods prior to this, an audit or reporting accountants report is still required.

Accounts are produced in receipts & payments or SORP2005 accrual format depending on income levels and statutory requirements (or the preference of the trustees).

In addition, we offer an in-house computerised book keeping service. The service includes monthly reconciliation of your accounts, and production of monthly management reports (these can be tailored to your specific needs and funds).

Spreadsheets

We have developed a spreadsheet template to help finance workers keep track of restricted and designated funds. Finance workers finding this duty a headache will find  the task much easier to cope with using our template. You can download this template, and its instructions, for free (follow the resources link to access the download page).

If required, modifications can be made to our templates to suit your organisational setup. Please note, there may be a small fee for this service, depending on complexity of work, but it will be very small.
